PHP in templates is so last decade

TXP Admin

The Admin Bootstrap Template from Bootstrap Zero, also comes in classic yellow.

The TXP Admin

That classic yellow thingie, you know, where we enter our content and massage our presence.

With so many different Bootstrap control panel style templates available for free, it’s been a learning experience experimenting with every one of them. What I like is that every template has similar coding behind it. Since it’s Bootstrap driving the DIVs, I feel at home, and can sit back and reap the knowledge from each of the designers. Taken as a whole, the possibilities add up quickly.

Disadvantages

The main drawbacks to the wide acceptance of Textpattern, have always been the lack of Themes, and the admin screens not being too user-friendly. The Themes are starting to come around, I wish other people joined in with their offerings. As for the user-friendliness of the back end screens, it can be addressed rather handily these days, pick your preferred framework.

Why the fork?

Because in the last 10 years, I’ve learned that Textpattern wants to remain a niche product. I can give you examples all afternoon long from my decade long experience. We could polish off a bottle of Jack, and I’d still be pointing to posts on the forums to prove my argument.
