23 Textpattern Sites

All these web properties I had laying around are getting face-lifts. I can launch a dynamic site in the time it takes to code and upload a static starter page.

  • Create the MySQL database on the hosting provider
  • Upload the Textpattern code to the web server
  • Install TXP 4.5.7, tweak preferences
  • Copy/paste the Cover Theme
  • Pick a background image
  • Tweak wording

12 weeks, 3 months

Feels like a lot longer, like July 31 happened in another era, a bygone time.

Whatever angst I felt back then translated into work, it fueled the expansion. Energy directed towards something, instead of talking about it, showing it.

Since 1989, I’ve been the chief cook and bottle washer. My instinctive reaction is to hit the ground running. The conference room meeting to whiteboard the direction to take, where only lunch is decided upon, is not attended.

Don’t feel too bad, my own family has been known to exclaim WTF Dude?

We’re going mobile

Kicking and screaming we’re going mobile. I’m a multi-monitor desktop kind of guy, and when I disconnect, I don’t want a tether. I’ll take a regular cell phone with me when I’m away from home, but I shy away from mobile web browsing.

Got a hand me down Samsung Galaxy S5 for testing purposes. Please lord don’t let me end up like those people who only show the top of their heads in public.

With only highway ahead …
